Michael: Slow Transition
Jack ass curls his lips,
Nods his head repeatedly
And brays his mantra.

We are slowly transitioning from tourist mode to ex-pat status.
We’ve hit all the big tourists check off spots and to do’s in the highlands many times and finally we’re venturing out to places that you wouldn’t cram into a two week itinerary.
Like the small rural road to Finca La Guardia. It has no big tourists drawing points, but is a beautiful way to spend a couple of hours walking through some ranches and pastures typical of this area.
We also ate at a very small local restaurant off the main drag called Glady’s because we heard they serve pancakes. For under $4 we had two omelets, a tortilla, and something close to a pancake without syrup. No English was spoken and again it’s not a place we would’ve discovered on our own.
Now we’re being inundated with ideas for places to hike to and go spend some time at that we didn’t do in on our short tourist visit last year or so far in our extended stay this year. But we’re settling in and we’ll get there.
