Michael: Almost Closed
The gravel screeching
Crow of the rooster makes it
A vulgar song bird.

Friday, Christmas or not, is tempo run day. That means going through town which gave us a chance to see if Volcan is an old fashioned Christmas town where everything shuts down for the holiday. Almost.
One business we were we happy to see operating were the buses. That meant we didn’t have to walk the two miles into town. But outside of the buses, Romero’s; the large grocery store downtown, a few Chinese stores and various small restaurants, the place was pretty much as closed and empty as we’ve ever seen it. And that’s just as it should be. Not that I believe it’s sacrilegious to operate on a holiday, but it’s nice to have a day where every one can stay home and be with there family.
And because almost everything was shut down it meant I wasn’t able to go to a panaderia for a coffee and treat, which is pretty much one of the few almost religious like rituals I perform. Today, hopefully, they’ll once again be open for business.
